Extended Learning Opportunities

In order to promote success, many programs have been established which extend beyond the normal school day to assist students in the learning process. 

After School Tutoring -Free

             Tutoring is available in language arts, math, science and social studies.  The days and times for tutoring are Monday, Tuesday and Thursday from 2:30 pm until 3:30 pm located in both Freshman and Main Campus media centers.

Extended Learning Time -Free

    Dates:  August 20, 2007 – May 9, 2008
    Days:  Monday – Thursday (2:00-5:00)
    Location:  Main Campus Media Center

High School Credit and FCAT Prep Courses - $15

High School Credit Classes

  • 3-5 PM Mon- Thurs (9-12th grades)
  • 6-8 PM Mon- Thurs (10th-12th grade only)

Intensive Math and Reading- 3-5 PM

  • 9th-12th grade credit retrieval and FCAT remediation
  • Tutoring for homework
  • .5 credit available; must attend minimum of 20 classes
  • Start date:  Aug. 27
  • Registration is ongoing;  begin when you can

SAT/ACT-Graduation and CollegeTest Prep - $15

UHS is offering test preparation for the  SAT and ACT college entrance examination. This course is designed to assist students wanting to score higher on the SAT or ACT for college entrance purposes and to meet Bright Futures eligibility.  Students may also earn .5 credit if attendance requirements are met.  

  • Start date:  August 28, 2007   
  • Times:       3:30-5:30PM

Registration in room 211 at 2:45pm Tues and Thurs.

What does the student need to do to sign up for high school credit and test prep classes?

  • Registration is continuous throughout the year.  
  • Report to room 211M
  • Bring a $15 money order made

out to Winter Park Tech.

  • Fill out the application forms at 

the beginning of the first class.  

  • To receive ½ credit, you will need

to attend class regularly.

  • If you are attending the SAT/ACT
  • Prep course, you may choose to

purchase a support book.  The title
will be given at the onset of class.
