UHS Global Technologies Magnet Program
The Global Tech magnet is an AP intensive program geared towards preparing students for higher education while providing exposure to several technology-based industries such as: Modeling and Simulation, Engineering, Robotics, Gaming, Electronic Arts, and Computer Science.
University High School students participating in the Global Technologies Magnet Program learn about the expanding technology based industries close to our campus. Students can learn about fascinating technology with the help of our business partners who provide field experts to help us educate our students. Students learn about the systems used in the high tech worlds of computer graphics, medical imaging, information technologies, web and network design, and entertainment or military simulations with the help of our partner organizations who not only work with faculty to develop the curriculum, but also provide experts and staff to assist in the total educational experience. Students explore these high tech worlds through field trips, speakers, internships and classes revolve around these topics. All seniors in our magnet program must attend Research Design classes taught by UHS teachers and The University of Central Florida (UCF) Simulation Department graduate students.
University High School 's Global Technologies Magnet seeks applicants who are interested in emerging technologies and who have motivation, aptitude and desire to excel in their studies. Global Technologies is a Level I Magnet that allows all high school students within Orange County to apply to the Global Technologies magnet program.
